Sticky Sticks 


Chicken drumsticks – I don’t make them often, but every time I do I wonder why I don’t make them more. Super simple sticky, yummy recipe. This can be done with thighs too of course. 

Equipment needed 

Small mixing bowl or jug

1 plastic bag or tray for marinating 

1 baking tray 

Shopping list for 2 people 

4 chicken drumsticks 

2 tbsp tamari 

2 tbsp runny honey or rice syrup  

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 

2 tsp of Five spice 

1 tsp ground ginger 

1 tsp garlic powder 

1 tbsp of sesame oil 

Method to the madness 

Whisk all the ingredients for the marinade in the bowl or jug, pour over the chicken – leave to marinate for a minimum of 20 minutes, turning them every so often to make sure you get even coverage 

Pre heat the oven to 180C Fan or 200C 
Take the drumsticks out of the marinade and bake them for 30-40 mins 

Pour the remaining marinade onto the chicken and bake for a further 20-30 minutes, basting every so often 

Serve along side your fav low carb side – they would be great served with some cauli or broccoli fried rice!
