Chilli Beef Mince 

A yummy large sharing bowl of chilli beef – what could be better on a chilly evening! This is a really simple meals full of flavour. You can pair it with any vege really, I just chose romanesco, it was delightful. 

Equipment required

2 large frying pans 

Shopping list for 2 people 

400g beef mince 

2 garlic cloves 

Thumb sized piece of ginger 

2 red chillies 

1-2 tbsp tamari (to taste)

1 tbsp sugar free tomato sauce 

Splash of brown rice syrup or maple to taste 

Medium head of romanesco broccoli 

Good splash of Sesame oil 

Sesame seeds and fresh corriander to garnish (optional)

Method to the madness 

De-seed and dice the chilli finely 

Crush the garlic and grate the ginger 

Cut the romanesco into florets 

Turn both the frying pans onto a medium high heat and add a generous splash of sesame oil

Add the chilli, ginger and garlic to the pan and stir fry for 1 minute, add the beef and brown

Meanwhile sautée the romanesco until just tender, add some water to the pan if need be 

Once the beef has browned add your sauces, add only 1 tbsp of tamari and then taste 

Continue to cook the mince until the sauces have reduced and leave the mince with a nice glossy sheen 

Mix the mince through the cooked romanesco and serve immediately 

Top it with some fresh corriander and toasted sesame seeds
