Chickpea, Bean & Garlic Dip

Chickpea, Bean & Black Garlic Dip 

Dip, dip, dippy! Dips are sooooo underrated in my book. Everyone loves a dip but we generally stick to the standard ones. This one is a little bit different to the norm, but not so scary that people won’t have a go. It can also be used as a side to main meals and is quick and easy to make. 

Equipment required 

Food processor 

Shopping list

1 x 400g tin of chickpeas, drained  

1 x 400g tin of cannellini beans, drained

6 cloves of black garlic (use 2 of regular garlic if you don’t have black, plus about 2 tsp of brown rice malt  syrup to give it sweetness) 

4 small Spring onions

2 tbsp tahini 

Juice of 1 lemon

Small bunch of parsley 
2 generous pinches of salt 

About 1/4 cup water  

Method to the madness 

Simply throw it all into the food processor (minus the water) and blitz 

Add the water little by little until you get the right consistency 

Serve alongside your fav dipper – I did aubergine chips but it would work with any veg
