Turkey Burgers

Turkey is a great alternative to chicken or beef when it comes to burgers. The flavour of the meat is easy to complement, it is lean and delish! Turkey mince can also be good when you are tightening the purse strings. I used lean thigh mince, it cost £2 for 500g!

Equipment required

1 lrg mixing bowl
1 non stick fry pan
1 grater or hand blender chopper attachment
1 circular pastry cutter (optional)

Shopping list makes 6 large burgers

500g lean turkey mine
1 onion
1 egg
1 tbsp of tomato paste
1 tsp of ground cumin
A few splashes of woesterchire sauce
Good pinch of salt

Method to the madness

Grate or process the onion into a fine dice

Add to the mixing bowl with the turkey mince and other ingredients

Mix well, incorporating everything into a uniform mixture

Shape the patties by using a tbsp and pressing the mixture it into a pastry cutter, if you don’t have a pastry cutter shape with wet hands

Let the burgers sit in the fridge for about 1 hr before cooking

Heat the pan to a medium heat, cook the burger for 3-4 mins each side until they are cooked in the middle

The mixture is soft so make sure you leave it long enough on the first side and ensure to flip them carefully

Serve with your choice of toppings, I used slices of brie and cranberry sauce. ENJOY!
