Steak & Caper Butter

Sprucing up a cheaper cut of steak takes only minutes when using this recipe. The capers give a nice salty flavour to the butter and compliment the steak perfectly. You also won’t need to season your meat once cooked when using this yummy sauce.

Equipment required

1 lrg fry pan

Shopping list

Approx 350g of beef steaks (quick cook cut)
Sprinkle of corn flour
Splash of vege oil
Knob of butter
1 tsp of capers

Method to the madness

Take the meat out at least 30mins before cooking

Season the meat with some salt and pepper, sprinkle with a little cornflour and rub on both sides

Heat the pan to a very high heat, add some oil and a small amount of the butter

Once the butter is starting to colour add the steaks, you may have to cook 1 at a time depending on the size

Cook the steaks for no more then 30 secs each side, once cooked leave on a plate to rest

Once all the steaks have been cooked turn the heat off the pan and add the remaining butter and capers

Pour the butter over the steaks on the resting plate. Serve the steaks making sure all the juices from the resting plate are dribbled evenly over each one

Serve with your fav low carb sides, I served mine with celeriac chips (same recipe as roast celeriac, just cut into chips) and caper mayo. ENJOY!
