Creamed Spinach


Creamed Spinach

A classic side dish that works well with meat or poultry. The flavours in the dish blend well, creating a mellow, comforting, rich and silky pile of goodness.

Equipment required

1 medium deep base saucepan

Shopping list for 2-4 people

500g of spinach
1 small knob of butter
1/2 cup of low fat cream
1/4 cup of water
2 cloves of garlic
1 tsp of nutmeg
1 tbsp of grated Parmesan
Toasted slivered almonds (optional)

Method to the madness

Heat the pan to a medium heat

Place the knob of butter in the pan with the spinach, crush the garlic and add to the pan

Once the spinach has wilted add the cream and water and reduce down until you have a thick consistency

Turn the heat off and add the nutmeg and Parmesan, taste for seasoning

Serve topped with toasted slivered almonds, along side your fav protein. ENJOY!
